Shutters Organization for
this year's International Photo Contest.
With the theme "Bilib Kami Sa'Yo",
the 2012 Photo Contest is looking for photographs that recognize and appreciate
the hard work and sacrifices of Filipinos all over the world. OFWs are
persevering in jobs outside the Philippines to provide for their families'
needs and their own personal security. These sacrifices must not go unnoticed
for they are not only helping their families but the country as well.
You are free to interpret the theme and your
images may be taken anywhere in the world. Your images may show or portray
people in action or their interaction with other people, nature, and objects.
All photos should accurately reflect the subject matter and the scene as it
appeared.
Mechanics
Who can join?
• Any OFW or Filipino expatriate living or
working outside the Philippines who is an active SSS Member. Open to hobbyist,
professional and amateur photographers.
• You MUST be an Active SSS Member. An Active
member is defined as someone who has paid at least one monthly contribution
within the 3-month period prior to joining u the photo contest.
• SSS member name and number will be validated
by an SSS representative.
When is the start of the submission of entries?
• July 01, 2012 up to Nov 01, 2012
All pre-submitted photos will be uploaded starting September 01, 2012 at the PEBA and/or SSS FB Pages.

How to join the International Photo Contest?
• Each entrant can only submit 2 photos. All
entries must be submitted and received by 01 of November 2012 at 11:59PM
Philippine time. An email or message of receipt and acceptance from the official email
pc@pinoyblogawards.com or PEBA Facebook message will be sent once your entries are accepted.

Contest Rules
• Once submitted, entrants agree that the data
above, like name and location, may be shared and used for the purposes of the
contest. Email address and most especially SSS number will be kept with utmost
confidentiality.
• Entrants can edit their data by sending an
email to pc@pinoyblogawards.com
• Photographs must be in digital format, taken
with any mobile, manual, or digital camera. All digital files must be higher
than 1 Mb (not more than 5 megabytes), must be in JPEG or JPG format, and must
be at least 1,600 pixels wide (for horizontal image) or 1,600 pixels tall (for
vertical image) with a resolution of 300dpi.
• Photographs must have been taken in 2012 and
may not previously have won an award in any photography contest worldwide.
• Photos that have been digitally altered beyond
standard optimization (removal of dust, cropping, reasonable adjustments to
exposure, color and contrast, etc.) will be disqualified.
• Images that do not meet these requirements may
or may not be judged at the judging panel's sole discretion.
• Photo captions must accompany all submissions,
and should include the subject of the image, the location, the image was taken,
and the name of the photographer(s).
• Photographs must be taken by the entrant
himself/herself and does not violate any copyrights, trademarks, moral rights,
rights of privacy/publicity, or intellectual property rights. It must not
contain obscene, provocative, defamatory, sexually explicit, or otherwise
objectionable or inappropriate content.
• Photographs must not contain any personal
watermark. The PEBA committee will place a watermark on the photo after
submission to ensure that photographs will not be distributed without credit
after photos are published in the Facebook pages of PEBA and SSS. All entries will
be co-owned as a property of PEBA and SSS and the photographer. PEBA and SSS
will be given the right to use the photos in any PEBA and/or SSS related
publication, events/exhibition or other commercial use (photographer maybe
entitled to an equitable share for such used) with full credit or
acknowledgment given to the photographer.
• Contestant will sign an online form HERE as a
conforme that they understand and are legally bound to the rules of this
contest.
CRITERIA OF JUDGING
• All photos should be taken within this year
2012
• All photos will be uploaded in one album at
the PEBA, and/or SSS Facebook pages starting SEPTEMBER 01, 2012. Photos will be properly labeled. A set of
judges (men and women who are passionate and professionals in photography) will
be chosen to judge the photos according to the following criteria:
a. Interpretation 30% --Pertains to the unique
interpretation of the theme or its relevance and substance. Photos should have
accompanying title and description.
b. Creativity 30% -- Pertains to the
composition, lighting, colors, uniqueness and artistry.
c. Technical Quality 20% - The photo should not
be digitally altered, should have high resolution or at least 1mb or higher and
should have publication quality.
d. Overall Impression 20% -- This will be
measured by the number of unique likes obtained by the photo in the Facebook
pages (PEBA and SSS) of the contest.
Note: Likes by individuals without profile photos,
or have no friends and/or no activity will not be counted. PEBA will have the
right to disqualify any contestant found manipulating the number of their
likes.
Shares will also be counted once.
