PEBA CELEBRATES First Anniversary of Incorporation!

"We want you to know that we are an engaging organization. We operate voluntarily, without compensation, without anything in return, except our dedication to the cause that we believe will define who we are and what we really are. We don't sit and relax, no matter how tiring our individual work maybe, no matter how challenging and difficult our situations. PEBA is a vibrant and ever growing organization that is visible online. It is not easy to be a PEBA nominee, much more so, if you become a winner. The top winners of last year created a project that is now called "THE KABLOGS JOURNAL" an OFW online magazine. Some of our previous winners for the year 2008 and 2009 are either volunteers of PEBA, or judges of PEBA for this year's contest."

"To become a PEBA winner, it requires your time, your effort, your dedication, it requires a tremendous sacrifice. But I promise you, that for being a nominee, for being a PEBA winner, there will be a sense of belonging, a sense of pride, and a sense of happiness and joy. You will feel a sense of success, and a sense of dignity that you have done good. A sense that you are doing something, even in your own little way that might bring good to others and to the world."

A Message from the Founder

Dear OFW's and Bloggers,

Today, is a special day for the Philippine Expats/OFW Blog Awards.Today, we are celebrating our first year anniversary as a duly recognized and registered non-profit, non-stock organization from the Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission. We present to you the slideshow of the photos of the awarding last year that was held at the Philam Life Theater, UN Avenue in Metro Manila.

They hailed PEBA as the blogging revolution for the OFW's. I personally hope that more OFW will blog and share their creative, funny, inspiring and sometimes, sad stories for us. Let us help, create and inform and for this season, let us find ways to strengthen family ties back home or abroad.

We have high regard and respect sa bawat isang OFW, because we too, are one. We honor every OFW blogger, because they inspire us. We, at PEBA,especially this blogger here, have the sincerest and deepest gratitude for the many people who supports us along the way, most especially bloggers and KABLOGS like you.

We want you to know that we are an engaging organization. Some of our previous winners for the year 2008 and 2009 are either volunteers of PEBA, or judges of PEBA for this year's contest.

To become a PEBA winner, it requires your time, your effort, your dedication, it requires a tremendous sacrifice. But I promise you, that for being a nominee, for being a PEBA winner, there will be a sense of belonging, a sense of pride, and a sense of happiness and joy. You will feel a sense of success, and a sense of dignity that you have done good. A sense that you are doing something, even in your own little way that might bring good to others and to the world.

Each nominees, wither an OFW or a relative of an OFW is part of our family - the PEBA family. We are stronger now than the day me and my wife started it. We are stronger now, we have a voice, and people listen because you and others are continually supporting us. Our voices, though they may not be audible in a loud speaker, are touching hearts and inspiring minds. Our voice individually and collectively, written in every moving piece of our entry and every post we published are weave as one strong voice that will serve as a witness to the leaders of our land, and to the ones that will come after us. Heroes stories written by seemingly simple people but is living an extraordinary lives. This is PEBA. This is Filipino talent.

We believe that strengthening the OFW's and their families, strengthen us, and in a domino-effect will strengthen our nation.

When the chairman, the president and officers of KABLOGS and PEBAdo the virtual conferences, we want you to know that we are talking about you,and what we can do to serve you more. As the founder of the two wonderful organizations, the KABLOGS and PEBA, Inc, and with an honest prayer in my heart, may I bless every OFW who will read this message, wherever you are, whatever you do, that may you'll feel the comfort in all things, that you may achieve your dreams, that you may draw strength and inspiration to carry on,and reap success in the goodness that you do by remembering the love of a spouse, and a child you left behind and the One who watch and guide us all.

Happy 1st PEBA Anniversary!

The Kablogs Journal, Bring to you The PEBA Primer

This August, in Issue 5 of your The Kablogs Journal, we bring to you The PEBA Primer for the commencement of the Philippine OFW/Expat Blog Awards 2010. This Season 3 theme is “Strengthening the OFW Families: Stronger Homes for a Stronger Nation”.

We hope that after reading the articles in this issue, especially the PEBA Primer that we have painstakingly prepared for you, you will be encouraged to join PEBA 2010. Do. Because a lot of people -- us, your kablogers, included -- are waiting to hear your voices. Who knows? You could be the winners that PEBA 2010 are looking for.

PEBA 2010 zeroes in on family, the basic and the smallest unit of our society but also the strongest and the most important. In going abroad, we sacrifice a lot of things, and we dare ask: should it also include the unity of our family? PEBA's third season calls upon all bloggers around the world to contribute in discussions about strengthening of family. Use this issue, your PEBA Primer, as a source of information and, yes, inspiration, too.

Contemplating on PEBA 2010 Theme

I met NJ of the DesertAquaforce last Thursday, this humble and very kind person I always admire and respect. He looks so healthy, vibrant and with a beaming face, he told me how he faithfully do his exercise daily. His doctor in one of the best medical hospital in the world, the International Medical Center was surprised. As we engaged in a quick chit-chat in the parking area, he said that atleast we are near to each other now, and so communication and decisions will be faster for PEBA. That leads me to think of a movie,
LOTR, The Two Towers. lols!

(that's NJ, pulling some boxes of shrimps for me, the famous and largest prawn company in the Middle East, grown in the Red Sea. I was actually taking picture of his awesome SUV! Where can I find a Toyota RAV4 black color here? hehe)

ccccc
They have no plans in replacing the founding Chairman, so I told NJ that the president of PEBA is on a 5-years term with extension, so please, bear with us. lols again.

With Pete in Korea, and Nj and I are here in Saudi, Jigs and Noemi are the two left in Manila as representative of PEBA. But that is the wonder of this organization. Decisions and conferences are being held virtually - online, and yet it can make great and big things happen. That's PEBA. We did that two years before. We learn from it, and we are hoping that this will be the best compared to the previous PEBA events.

I am currently sitting in a veranda of an 8th floor in a condo unit at the heart of the historic city of Jeddah, I can see on a glass window the thousands of lighted homes, and its 9:30 in the evening. Nope that's not the building. The building behind this huge landmark of Jeddah. Thanks to Camera ni Cabrera for the photo, ninakaw ko lang, hehehe. Salamat Pepe!
We will have a meeting with Nj and the rest of the Jeddah bloggers this Thursday. Hope we can come up with something. I am sure it is one of the photo to be posted na naman sa KABLOGS and KABLOGS station!~ hehe. Sabi ni NJ, with Prawn in a box pa na freebies.

What's more exciting for this year for PEBA is that,

we will have a lot of preparation
have more sponsors
more freebies
and

there will be entries for top 10 blog entries for local bloggers or mga bloggers na nasa Pinas but with affinities or relatives na OFW's. They're the ones sympathetic to OFW causes. I am sure magshoot up na naman ang membership ng KABLOGS. hehe. Pre-requirement kasi na makasali is maging member ka ng KABLOGS or ma-iadd sa rooster ang blog URL mo. Then you can post an entry according or na may relation sa theme, display the nominee banner and wait for the awarding. You can come sa awarding and you'll be sure to bring home something, a dinner, a t-shirts and a lot of freebies. ehhehe.

Exciting! Ako din! Hope susuportahan ulit ng mga kaibigan namin by reposting sa mga blog nila ng opening ng PEBA 2010.

so... abangan!!!

A New Leader from the Votes of the OFWs

"Let the new leaders of our land rise from the votes of the OFWs"

This article, a compilation of thoughts from some of the best and brightest PEBA and KABLOGS bloggers was originally posted at the Philippine Online Chronicles, and Blogwatch.ph

KablogsElectionAd17

For decades, we've been lauded as "Bagong Bayani" as a recognition by the same government who has caused our mass exodus into foreign lands.

Let's breathe the title of modern day heroes and accept its appended challenges and responsibilities. Despite our distance and diversity, we take pride in being a part of the Filipino abroad’s global recognition as shapers of the world.

Now, the time has come to unleash the heroes within us as the majestic sun rises in the East and its rays of hope shines upon our nation this coming May 2010 election.

This is a call for our collective voice in the 2010 election. We encourage all Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and their families to actively participate and be part of our country’s historic electoral process.

For several years, we’ve made our presence felt in building our nation. In every single dollar remittance that is being delivered in our family’s doorsteps, we OFWs have helped in sustaining the Philippines’ economic growth.

Our experiences in and out the country have led us to become seasoned professionals who are now politically mature to discern what’s best for our home country. Now is the moment to make a difference. We are part of the 12 million Filipinos dispersed across the world and we can definitely make a difference.

We will solidify our stand to choose the right leaders fo

r our country. We will influence our family and loved ones back home, the recipient of our hardships and struggles abroad, to act too. We will guide them in making their choices this coming May 2010 because we believe that their actions will not only shape our country’s future but the future of the generations to come.
Our nation has suffered from the action (and inaction) of irresponsible and corrupt government officials but we must remain steadfast in our hope and desire of having a better country. Our nation is already battered and divided. This coming election, its fate resides in US.
If there is a time to live as modern day heroes, to make a difference as global Filipinos, to embark on something worth doing, IT IS NOW!

Let us empower ourselves as OFWs. With one voice and one heart, let's vote and get counted! Only responsible voters can bring responsible leaders in office on May 2010. Let the new leaders of our land rise from the votes of OFWs.

(We encourage all OFW bloggers to post this in your blog, FB Profile, Twitter, Plurk and circulate this piece to OFW and families email addresses. Thank you.)

KABLOGS STATION - Pinoy, OFW, and Expats Hang-Out

KABLOGS STATION is one way for KABLOGS and PEBA to gather the Global Filipino's as well as intermingle with the Pinoy's in the home front

Almost 4 days after its creation inspired by the dream of the current President Charlie, and VP George, as well as the men and women behind it, KABLOGS Station is one of the fastest and most active social network among bloggers now, with 41 members, and growing!

The thing about is this, its members are scattered across the world, from the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, USA, Afghanistan, Dubai, Qatar, Kuwait, Singapore, and many other countries.

One inspiring thing, KABLOGS also being the gateway of PEBA is gaining more and more trust from the public as it serves as sumbungan ng mga Pinoy sa ibang bansa na may mga problema at kasalukuyang naghihirap sa amo, or sa trabaho.

and also about the to be the topic in an EB for a cause of the Saudi Bloggers DH Mother in Saudi Arabia.
