BE CAREFUL WITH FIXERS OF PASSPORT RENEWAL AND EXTENSIONS IN CONSULATE AND EMBASSY.

Consul General Paul Raymond Cortez said in a media briefing and in a released advisory that there are at least two incidents of faked stamp in passport supposedly extended, done by fixers and offering bogus extensions.
Forged or tampered passports is punishable in the UAE law and could land holders to jail. The UAE consulate said that starting 2016, January 1 this year, the Philippine consulate of Dubai, UAE terminated the stamping for passport extension, except for medical emergency or death in the family that the OFW or the Filipino needs to travel back home.

One of the victim said that the fixer asked for Dh700 in payment for the extended passport stamp and to which the victim paid. One of the consul, whose signature was forged in the passport said it was a scam because the cost of renewing the passport is only Dh240 and an emergency passport extension is only Dh120
