Nominees No. 7 -10: Of Cake, Dreams, Brain and a Poem

We move on as we chronicle the growing nominees of the Top 10 Pinoy Expats/OFW Blog Awards of 2009.
The quality of the nominees are testament of the PEBA success in making the blogosphere aware of its presence. The entries are wonderful, penned, typed, taken or composed by the OFW or expats bloggers who on their own resources and talents wished to come up with the best.
Each nominee entries are being assessed by PEBA screening committee and read by the PEBA team and approved once you're included in the poll widget.

NOMINEE NO. 7
Bayani? o Bayani by Enjoy Baldres of LIFE IS A PIECE OF KEYK from Yishun Singapore is a very touching piece of a daughter retelling his father's story as OFW, and later became an OFW too. "Dahil sa bawat dolyar, dirham, yen, o pounds na ipinapadala nila (kasabay ang mga request na rubber shoes, pabango, bag, shades at gintong alahas), ganun din ang katumbas ng pawis, pagod at homesick na tinitiis nila. Baka nga kulang pa."
NOMINEE NO. 8
Lipad ng Pangarap by Jee of Wits Expression from Dubai, United Arab Emirates is a unique entry with a music and video presentation. The video is a collection of her OFW friends, blogmates and others photos in their workplace with their associates. The song and essay tells how those dreams inspires the OFW's that lead them to foreign countries.
NOMINEE No. 9
Ako at Kami Bilang Manggagawang Pilipino by Drake's Room from Riyadh Saudi Arabia is a first hand approach post about an OFW working in Saudi Arabia not just for his country, but most importantly for his family. "Oo, aminin ko noon nangibang bansa ako hindi para sa bansang Pilipinas kundi para sa aking pamilya. Dahil gusto kong gumihawa ang pamumuhay namin at gusto kong mabago ang buhay namin. Kinakaranggal ko ang pagiging Pilipino at bilang isang manggawa sa ibayong dagat. "

NOMINEE NO. 10
Payaso by EJ of Klasrum ni Pajay from Qatif, Saudi Arabia is a witty but heartfelt sentiment of an OFW expressed in a poem. The man behind the poem is a young and funny blogger who make people laugh through his own way, yet personally struggling on his health because he contracted Pneumonia while working abroad.

The PEBA accepts nomination till October 2009. We will be choosing the TOP 10 from the Over-All Nominees and some awards and citations from the rest.
